Batman Samini Emmanuel Andrew Samini, Ghana’s current hottest urban musician has expressed his gratitude to any living soul who has contributed in one way or the other to his success so far. The “King of African Dance Hall” disclosed this in an exclusive one on one chat with the Weekly Fylla. After the just gone by Ghana Music Awards, this is the first detailed interview the sexy don dada has granted on the aftermath of this year’s Ghana@ 50 GMA. Samini who had his first nomination as a solo artiste in 2005, won two awards new hiplife artiste of the year and the over all new artiste of the year with his maiden “Dankwansere” album at Ghana Music Awards, went ahead to win a MOBO (Music of Black Origin) award as the best African musical art in UK last year. His glaring talent couldn’t be ignored in this year’s edition of the GMA. Out of six nominations the dance hall stopper, carried home four awards for Artiste of the Year, African Pop Song of the Year, Reggae Song of the Year and Record of the Year with his second and still reigning project titled “Samini”. Samini attended the Holy Family School for his basic education and secondary at Margaret Mary’s Secondary School in Dansoman. After his S.S.C.E. whilst waiting for his result, he took time to get seriously into music. A brotherly opportunity his good friend Sony Bally gave him to feature on Mary Agyapong’s second album, from where his featuring spray began. Then known as “Batman”, he featured on over fifty songs before releasing his debut. As an up and coming artiste, it was his ambition to have his own album some time to come but reflecting back Samini said he went through hard times to get a good deal but he was with Ashanti International all the time and that was where he his recording and everything done thanks to with Nana King. “I must say I did everything with Nana King who gave me all the support I needed”. From where he started to where he is now. Samini expresses his appreciation to his entire fans worldwide, to all radio presenters, event organizers, all radio stations, TV stations, entertainment newspapers and magazines and his fellow musicians who have helped in their own small way to raise the name and the musical product Samini. For the ladies, Samini says he is still your man. Already cooking yet another historic musical recipe, Samini was caught in CT-Studio in Dansoman Sahara earlier this week with Jam Master ‘J’ putting together the remix of his current hit song “Samini” a line in the new chorus goes like “Sam Samini rock your body, Sam Samini move your body”. The melody of the song and the power behind it will at least force you to nod your head. As at the time we chanced on them, Samini and his producer (sound engineer) Joshua Raphealson a.k.a J.M.J was still contemplating on which beat to use but trust me you can’t wait to hear this. If he is in the studio he composes a new song anytime he hears a beat a true definition of a good musician. Samini disclosed that he has an up coming website www.saminionline.com where he intends to sell T-Shirts, baseball cups and other Samini branded souvenirs and his own magazine called “Samini Page”.
